A 28-year-old man was arrested in Mar del Plata by the DDI, accused of attempting to murder his ex-partner and her daughter. The aggressor, identified as Gabriel Mansilla, was apprehended near the intersection of Garay and Tucumán streets. He had been a fugitive since the attack, which took place on January 2nd in the Jorge Newbery neighborhood. During the incident, Mansilla burst into a residence on Brown Street and opened fire. The 46-year-old woman was shot in the hand, and her 17-year-old daughter was shot in the abdomen. Both victims were hospitalized; their lives are not in immediate danger. Mansilla, who had an outstanding arrest warrant requested by prosecutor Carlos Russo, has a criminal record for theft, illegal weapon possession, and drug-related offenses. He has been transferred to the Unit 44 Penal Institution in Batán while the case for attempted aggravated femicide is processed.
